The views from the property viewing deck are spectacular. The cottages are very comfortable and Ron and Sarah’s hospitality are second to none. It is worth noting that the hosts live on-site so they are around which is helpful if you have questions, but if you are after a holiday with complete privacy this may not be for you. Suse

We stayed at Sarah and Ron’s last year in winter with a group of 10, and this year in spring, just my husband and I. On both occasions, it was magical experience. The place is spacious, clean, complete with amenities, full kitchen, and great view. Ron gave us local attraction advise, and kindly offered us to enjoy the fresh oranges from their tree and herbs from the garden. Can’t wait to come back again and again. Recommended to all of our friends and family. Jannutal

If you are looking for a nice place for your great holiday, do not hesitate to book with Ron and Sarah. The places are so unique and charming. You will get everything you need in the cottage with a good view around. Warm welcoming. Ron showed me around his house and gave me some trip advices as well. I stayed in cottage 1, all was very clean. It was designed uniquely which i really fell in love with and is surrounded by mountains and river. I have been stayed in many places and this place is now on my great favorite list!! Thank you Ron and Sarah hope to see you again. Sujinda

Fantastic real countryside stay…we really enjoyed our 2 night stay in this rustic wooden accommodation. Ron and Sarah were very friendly and welcoming. Ron gave very good advise about nearby things to do. The backside viewing dock is real gem… we were lucky to see the stars in the night as the sky was clear. Will definitely come back in spring again… Shrey

Make it what you want, if you don’t need to be entertained by theatres, cafes etc and just want the get away to enjoy fresh air, space, travelling partners company, you will enjoy. In summer there would be some lovely drives. if you don’t like small tubes of shower gel, take soap. Both cottages are quaint, wood fire only in smaller one. Though we had the heater on in ours and if was more than sufficient. If you cant do stairs, go for the smaller cottage. Some great photo op’ Amazing hosts, extremely helpful and show pride in their district as well as their cottages. Lynda

Ron greeted us with a tour of the facility and the view from the back deck is just gob-smacking. We were loaned an excellent map of the surrounding area and suggestions from Ron what to see. The lodging is comfortable and has great character. On leaving Sarah was quick to phone us that Barb had left something behind (again!) and we had also just realised this and had turned around fortunately only a few K’s away. All and all this was a lovely stay with excellent communication. Highly recommended. Brian

The view is spectacular and they were hospitable to offer us food and herbs from their home grown vege patch along with some seedlings to take home to plant! I wouldn’t go anywhere else in this location and we hope to return. Next time we will stay longer than one night! Thanks again! Jessica

Sarah and Ron are fabulous warm individuals who have an amazing place in Towong with the best ever view. Walk past their house and you will literally be stunned into silence. I challenge anyone to have a vegie garden with such a good view. Our visit here was unfortunately affected by #stormageddon! Stupid rain 🙁 But I hope I can definitelty return sometime and sit in the sun out on their amazing deck. Cabin 1 is oh so cute too! 🙂 Catherine

Ensuring that we were properly geared up and advising us on where to go. Thankful for their generosity. Rasha

Sarah and Ron were wonderful hosts, who gave great suggestions for local walks and drives. We enjoyed our stay, including the great view from the outdoor deck, the shifting coloured light of the evening sky. Ron welcomed us very warmly and we had all we needed in the wooden upstairs ‘cabin’. Helen
3 Sept 2017
A delightful place to stay built with timber and with love by Ron. Comfy and cosy and with some similarities to Swiss style accommodation. Ron and Sarah are both very welcoming with Ron in particular providing a wealth of historical and environmental info about this beautiful area which he so obviously loves. The view from the property is mesmerising. We were lucky to be there just after some fresh snow falls which covered the mountains in the distance – just like the pictures had us believe would be the case. Amazingly beautiful. John
11 Aug 2017

Dear Sarah and Ron,
Thank you for a great stay at your lovely cottage. The location is just fantastic. You are so lucky to live in such an exceptional place. I’m just sorry we couldn’t spend longer with you but I hope to be able to return some time. I would definitely recommend to friends. Thank you for the useful information for our onward drive. We didn’t get mobile reception until between Adam….. and Cooma. The road through the Snowy Mountains is fabulous and luckily despite seeing loads of kangaroos we didn’t hit any! Best wishes, Olivia Williams.
5 Aug 2017
We had a wonderful stay in Sarah and Ron’s place. The cottage had a very nice interior design, perfectly kept warm on that cold night. My 10 yr old son and I stayed here during mid July, we were keen to explore the Upper Murray area and spend a snow day in nearby Thredbo (1.5 hr drive). The cottage was warm and inviting and my son just loved the loft bed. The space was very clean, cosy and well equipped with all the basics. Ron and Sarah were fantastic hosts and Ron gave us incredible inside info into the best sights in the area. The views from this property are simply amazing and we were able to spend quality time together as a family away from the bustle of city life. We would not hesitate recommending this place to family and friends, it’s a little gem. Kylie

Sarah and Ron’s cottage is situated in a beautiful part of Australia. They are great hosts, generous, helpful and well practised. Our family of 4, two boys 11 and 10 and our Rhodesian ridgeback were warmly welcomed. Although cosy, the cottage had everything we needed and Sarah even went into town to find a specific DVD for us which was very kind. Towong is a great location to branch from to experience the area. We loved it and was well worth the visit. We could literally drive for hours without bumping into another. Shannon

Sarah and Ron were very welcoming and very helpful!! Beautiful log cabin! Anurag
20 June 2017
We were very happy with Ron & Sarah’s cabin and location. The view from the deck is just magical. The cabin (#2) was very comfortable: 1 bedroom, 2nd bed in the living area. This worked well for us as we we’re 2 friend with my 2 dogs. The beds were super comfy. The cabin is what I’d call rustic and exactly as it should be for the location. Kitchen is basic but perfectly fine for our 4 day stay. Ron is a fantastic host, super informative and passionate about sharing his knowledge. My friend loves fishing and Ron was very helpful and also shared some of his equipment. Great location for touring this wonderful part of the world. Helen
12 June 2017
Peaceful and quiet! We took our family here for a quiet weekend away to just relax and unwind and you have no choice but to! The scenery is amazing, the hosts amazingly hospitable and knowledgeable about the surroundings and the wooden cabins had everything needed to self cater, just BYO food. If you need to just STOP then this is the perfect place to do it. Vanessa
21 May 2017

14 Mar 2017
Such a magical spot! A group of 6 of us stayed here on the way from Melbourne to Sydney. We arrived late but Sarah kindly waited up for us and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was really comfy and rustic. In the morning we enjoyed the sun coming up over the valley, with a spectacular view of the river and Snowy Mountains from the deck Ron built. He came out and gave us fresh melon, pears, tomatoes and blood plums from their garden and told us lots of history and interesting info about the surrounding farmlands. Sad we couldn’t stay longer to enjoy that view – thanks for everything guys! Beth
18 Feb 2017
Ron and Sarah have been wonderful hosts…Ron gave us all the information regarding the sights that were worth seeking there. The fruit trees were the add ons to the scenic area and Ron was very generous to offer us fresh fruits and veges straight from the trees. The cottage gave us a very cosy feeling…wish we could stay there for a few more days. Over all it was the best experience we had and would definitely recommend others to give this place a visit. Delshad

Sara and Ron made us feel extremely welcome. The accommodation was extremely clean and well equipped. The log cabin was cosy and rustic and very comfortable. We were encouraged to make ourselves at home, and enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck watching the sun set over the the Murray River to the mountains beyond. Along with the sound of wind chimes and wild birds it was a magical experience. It is definitely somewhere that I’d recommend for others to stay. Thanks again, Sarah and Ron!! Joanne

Ron and Sarah were absolutely terrific hosts, full of interesting facts and terrific suggestions for how to make the most of our stay. We loved swimming in the river and watching the sunset from the top of the hill. The house was very cozy and well-equipped, plus Ron and Sarah provided some delicious local organic full-cream milk that was fabulous. Julie

We loved it here! A very snuggly, cosy and beautifully decorated property. Our daughter loved the loft bed and we all loved the views. We could see the Milky Way at night so clearly. It was just like a home described in a fairytale. The host, Ron was very friendly and welcoming and told us a little about the history of the house and some local places to visit. We’d love to come back again. Jo

21 June 2016
We had a lovely night in our cottage, felt like a tree house with all the beautiful timber furniture and architecture. This place is really special and unique. Ron was super friendly to us and our three dogs who loved being treated with sleeping inside. He showed us some great walking tracks to take the dogs and pretty much gave us free range to explore the surroundings. Even though it rained a lot of the time we were there we still got to relax on the front deck with a coffee and admire the beautiful mountain views. The cottage itself was cozy and clean, you wouldn’t know that dogs regularly stay there. We were very happy and would definitely recommend it to others to stay. Amanda

Sarah and Ron were amazing host, Ron greeted us when we arrived and provided us with lots of information of the cottage and surrounding areas. The cottage was very cosy and well equipped. Sarah and Ron, thank you for the wonderful time we got to spend at your beautiful and cozy property! Views over the Murray and mountains are just breathtaking. 9 Aug 2015
Gorgeous, warm welcome by Sarah [even in the dark], as we had been skiing until the last lift run at Thredbo that afternoon and did the drive direct to accommodation as mountain was heavily booked that weekend. We loved the sunset drive through Mount Kosciusko on the way there, then again the next morning. Worth the drive alone to stay you have done it. Great communication with Sarah in the lead up to arriving and this gorgeous cabin is everything you need for a lovely chalet style b&b stay for a night or two. Two bedrooms on one level; one in the front lounge, one seperate bedroom with a double and bunks. A small balcony off the lounge and some sofas for relaxing. There were three of us on the trip so perfect number. We cooked in the kitchen that night and whilst simple amenities, all perfect. The only thing missing was a fireplace; one of the cabins has one, and the other doesn’t but this didn’t stop us from playing Pictionary and listening to music and relaxing. We had an excellent sleep that night very comfortable beds and cooked up breakfast in the morning before having coffee on the viewing deck. Do yourself a favour and spend some time with the universe out there, as its truly unique and beautiful. We had a gorgeous chat with Ron, there who gave us some great history on the locale and some excellent advice on places to stop on the way back to Perisher, which we did. A beautiful part of the world. Highly recommend to stay if Snowies are booked out or as an alternative to ultra expensive accommodation in NSW. Lauren
8 Aug 2015
Sarah and Ron were amazing hosts. My boyfriend Paul and I and our dog Khloe had an amazing time relaxing on the property. We were welcomed by Sarah and shown the incredible view, we were offered some fresh produce from the veggie patch and then taken to our cottage which was nice and warm with the heater already running. So comfy and cosy. We will definitely be back again. Sara, Paul and Khloe Sara
29 July 2015

25 July 2015
Sarah and Ron’s property is beautiful. Photos don’t do justice. We had a lovely one night stay and Ron was kind enough to heat the cottage up before we came so that it’ll be toasty and warm for us when we arrive. Ron was there to welcome us and the morning we left, he also came down to say bye and to advise us on how to continue with our road trip. He was so helpful and we’re very thankful. Would definitely book the cottage again if we were to return to Corryong 🙂 Natasha
23 July 2015
Sarah and Ron are everything you would want in a host: gracious, generous and helpful. Sarah is a outstanding cook to boot! She even let me try some of her home made mayonnaise which was delicious. They’re situated in such a lovely spot, it’s great for either relaxing at the house or as a good home base to explore the surrounding area. Their deck is the perfect spot to read a book and soak in the views. I will definitely be bringing some friends back here. Ewan
21 July 2015
Sarah and Ron were such an amazing hosts…. upon arrival, Ron came to greet us before we stepped out of the car, gave us a quick tour around the property and he pick up some oranges from the tree for us. When we woke in the morning, Sarah gave us homemade yogurt, we had a very special breadfast. The property itself is just beautiful with amazing views. We will definitelly be coming back there again and will recommend it to our friends / family and those looking for a cosy experience nearby the snowy mountains. Kristel

6 May 2015
Ron and Sarah greeted us warmly upon arrival. The accommodation was roomier than we anticipated which was a welcome surprise. Our hosts were engaging and charming. We really enjoyed conversing with them. The pictures are not only accurate, if anything, they do not do this locale justice. The surrounds are magnificent and we enjoyed our stay very much. We recommend the Magical Upper Murray very highly. Antonia
2 April 2015
We absolutely loved this place! Sarah and Ron were so welcoming and as the veggie patch was over flowing with beautiful fresh veg we were able to enjoy a delicious salad for dinner that we prepared in the fully equipped kitchen. The views over the river are magnificent, we did yoga and meditated there at sunset and sunrise. The cabin was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed and more. Highly recommended. Denise
13 Mar 2015
We stayed at the Snowy Mountain Cabins in March 2015, and it has been the most pleasant cabin we have stayed in. The combination of privacy, an old world rustic charm, set against a sleepy town with magnificent rolling hills and river views. We were made welcome by Ron and Sarah the owners of the property, who were extremely attentive, yet gave us the privacy we needed. We enjoyed every bit of our stay and Ron and Sarah’s delightful hospitality made the Snowy Mountain retreat a place we will come back to again and again. Fah

Dear Ron and Sarah
First of all we wish you both a Happy New Year. We hope that it brings health and good times. We wanted to say thank you again for the wonderful stay prior to Christmas. We all had a relaxing and enjoyable time (including Monty) and were refreshed for the Christmas and New Year in the Wimmera. You have a very special place and we hope to visit again.
Thankyou for your hospitality, Janine, Rob, Coby & Monty

Jeanette and I stayed for two days at Sarah and Ron’s B&B. Ron met us straight away and gave us lots of information and advice. The cabin was large and well appointed. The view from the backyard was spectacular. I would recommend a stay at Ron and Sarah’s for anyone wanting a great base to stay at whilst exploring the Kosciuszko National Park Paul and Jeanette

Ron and Sarah were fabulous hosts. The cottages were beautiful and very comfortable to stay in. The views across the valley were superb. No problems in booking process, would recommend. Sally
20 July 2014
A little piece of magic. We drove 6 ½ hours each way for a 1 night escape here and wouldn’t regret a moment of it. Aside from having a wonderful person to share the drive with the scenery is breath-taking. We stayed in cottage 2, there wasn’t a log fire but the cottage was so cosy and Sarah was so friendly (fresh cow’s milk is a great extra!) we didn’t miss it. The view is breath taking from Sarah’s back garden (which they kindly make accessible). If you live in the city and want to get away with your special person to remember what old school hospitality feels like and how a landscape looks without any houses, snow-capped mountains, a green valley and a dancing river running through it then you’ve come to the right place. I know we’ll be back. David
10 July 2014
Cute and cosy cottage in a beautiful area, Sarah and Ron were both so lovely and helpful. Would’ve loved to stay longer. Courtney
5 July 2014

11 Apr 2014
A magnificent spot with incredible views. Cabin was very cosy and comfortable and the hosts contributed to our dinner with fresh greens from their garden. We missed what looked like gorgeous walks due to a heavy, non-stop down pour. Ticked all of the boxes. Pity about the rain. Terrific hosts. Would definitely try again. Loreen
2 Mar 2014
Sarah and Ron went out of their way to assist in all matters and were lovely hosts. We wish our stay hadn`t been so brief! Would love to go back and spend more time in such beautiful accommodation and stunning surrounds. Jemi

Dear Sarah and Ron,
Yes, we slowly meandered home. It was one of our best holidays. We felt welcome ( even though we were a little late getting there..sorry!) the cottage was warm and charming, the countryside magnificent. Zorba still dreams of his romps with Reggie! And yes, I am already planning our next stay.
Best wishes, Donna ,John….. and Zorba

Hello Sarah and Ron
Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed out stay with you last week. And also to apologise for leaving so much stuff in the fridge — it wasnt intentional! After we left, we camped at Geehi for a couple of nights; as you suggested, it was the best spot for us.
All the best, Mark

Ron/Sarah
Thanks again for another great holiday. We had tears from both Sorcha and Ciara as we left, which hasn’t happened for years. They really enjoyed themselves. The fishing was a little quiet in comparison to previous trips, but I really enjoyed the last afternoon on Khancoban Creek. Lots of fish (Browns and Rainbows), mainly small – the best was a Rainbow of 1/2 lb, but all taken on the dry. Anyway, looking forward to returning in the future.
Regards, John, Fiona, Sorcha and Ciara.

Hi Ron & Sarah
Just a short note of thanks for the terrific weekend Andrew and I had with you. We had so much fun and a lot of good laughs. Just a bit sorry my reel let me down but its been replaced now and I’ll be ready for next time! You were very patient dealing with that. Andrew needed several weeks to get over losing “the big one” but we’ll be back for certain for another go at him some day.
Hope all is going well in your little bit of paradise.
Best Regards, Simon Waters

Hi Ron and Sarah,
Thought I would drop you a quick line to let you know we arrived safely home from the second leg of our adventure very tired but satisfied. Thanks so much for your hospitality and support for our great time in Towong. I personally was very disappointed in the Goulburn leg. Water levels very low, as expected, with much negotiating around snags in shallow muddy water. Even Mel and Robbo were able to keep their balance…and the tents on the river banks didn’t match the comfort of your cabins, especially the luxurious rooms that Ron ( Ferrit) and I enjoyed. I was at a function last night here in Geelong and gave some other friends your details so you could well expect more Geelong visitors later in the year.
Hope you are both well…Remember “ Adventure before Dementia”
Regards from all the crew, Robbo, Mel, Johnny, Peter, Ron and Macca

G’day Sarah & Ron….quick note of thanks for your hospitality [ again ] last weekend….the boys enjoyed themselves, especially the food you prepare, bewdiful. Rik has posted today a disc with the piicies, and from last ride at end of April. Trip home was good, Tumbarumba to Rosewood to Bondo/Gilmore to Adelong to Junee to Coolamon to Narrandera then to Griffith. A bit hot but, Dale road from Coolamon in his JEANS AND SHIRT SLEEVE SHIRT, all good unless you fall.
All in all a good weekend, just too short, next trip will be 3 days if not 4 I think, when it cools a bit, March perhaps. Sorry we did not say goodbye when we left, wveryone keen to hit the road, Kev rode by himself back to Albury too see a church member whom is having a hard time presently, he certainly is committed to helping people when they need someone, great to have some one like that as a friend and fellow biker.
Till soon…stay safe, now I have the first 12 months in a new job behind me, Sandra and I will be up soon…..thanks again, Stephen Larkin

We had a great few days including the spectacular Friday re-enactment and parade. We got back home around 10.30 on the Friday night. We are now thinking we should come up at the same time next year but stay longer and include the wekend for the other events on for the festival.Do you by chance know the dates of next years festival?

Hello Sarah & Ron
I just wanted to give you another big thank you for making us both welcome during our stay there. As soon as we left the drive way upon leaving Daniel got rather emotional and very teary. He was sad because we had to leave, and he rather took a liking to Ron. He cried so much because he had such a great time, it was his best holiday ever he said,in fact he cried himself to sleep in the car. I havent seen him that happy for a while, and it was a great feeling for me.
Again thank you both very much, and we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Much Love, Daniel & Naume.

Dear Sarah and Ron
David and I wanted to say many thanks for your wonderful hospitality. We had a great time canoe fishing, bird watching and enjoying your lovely scenery. The view you have of the Murray River and Snowy Mountain Range is absolutely amazing.
We had a very nice trip back to Melbourne – we really enjoyed stopping in Beechworth. It was a lovely surprise to find such an interesting and vibrant town, it was much better than following the main highway. Thank you for recommending it as a place to visit.
I hope we will see you again in the future.
Kind regards
Karen and David

Hi Ron and Sarah –
Just to say that we had a great time when staying with you, and to send you
the bird list (see below), as promised, compiled over three days (probably
only 3-4 hours actual birding, mainly on morning walks)
23-25 September 2004
Area covered includes Sullivan Street, the bridge, the small
at the foot of the hill, and along a few hundred metres of the roads around
there. It is very much a preliminary list; further regular observations
over a year or so would definitely turn up many more species – probably two
or three times as many – and occasional visitors over several years would
add even more.
Cheers, and thanks for the hospitality, Hugo
